Afterthoughts
I wanted to share a few thoughts on the production process of Eggs, the positives and negatives, and what I took out of the experience.

Positives:

Shooting completely MOS made getting the shots needed much easier, allowing for my ability to direct the actors every step of the way, especially in the wides/masters

Complete MOS also provided me a challenge to accomplish when it came to sound design. I had to completely rebuild the sounds from the ground up and that process was something that was certainly an endeavor but one that I found to be extremely fulfilling. I think it also offered flexibility in that I was able to create any sound that I needed to fit the feel of the scene.

While it was difficult, filming in the snow covered mountains of Maine was an experience certainly
Negatives:
I had really no idea on how this film was going to end/how the scene was going to play out. I had a rough idea of a plan but nothing that I felt confident on. I believe this especially resulted in what was a rushed/choppy/flat end to the film. The buildup wasn't expanded enough to really give any interest to the conclusion.

This is a more specific example of what I think really lacked in this production: planning and clear direction. I was uncertain of what I wanted to do a lot of the time and that led to a slow production process and the lack of attention paid to getting every shot needed.

Filming in the snow covered mountains of Maine without proper planning and a complete crew. It was difficult to get steady spots for the camera's tripod, morale was decreased due to the cold, the production was slowed down significantly and we had to call it early just to be safe for everyone.

Also, I didn't have time to record some wild audio that may have helped in the sfx building process

Ultimately, there was a lot of issues that stemmed from my lack of planning and direction. I think in that regard, the project really faltered but I believe that my sound was built pretty well except for a number of specific issues I have with it. I think especially when it comes to planning, that is an improvement that I need to make, especially for the final project
